Well... Secret Pal 6 is on it's way now and I am soooo elated! I was so excited about getting my match and I totally forgot that I would also be someone's match! My Secret Pal e-mailed me this morning and mentioned that they look forward to seeing my questionnaire! Whoops! I thought I better post it asap! Hi Secret Pal ... nice to meet you ... here it is:
1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer higher quality and/or natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you?
- Oooh! I don't want to say that I am a yarn snob, but I guess I am! After I tried the higher quality and natural fibers the difference seemed really big to me, so I would not prefer to go back to the synthetics!
2. Do you spin? Crochet?
- I do spin and crochet! I just got my first spinning wheel a few weeks ago and it is a lot of fun!
3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.)
- Smoke is not my favorite smell (hubby is allergic to it though).
4. How long have you been knitting?
-*blush* I have only been knitting since March of this year. I love to knit and I spend a lot of time doing it!
5. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
- I do have an Amazon wish list located
here! I love bookstores like halfpriced books which are used/new. If I find a book or item in good condition, but used, I will buy it right away! I got the "Stitch N' Bitch Journal" at HPB last week!
6. What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)
-Hmmmm ... I love anything citrussy, not toooo sweet! I especially love grapefruit!
7. Do you have a sweet tooth?
- Unfortunately I have 32 sweet teeth!
8. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do?
- I love ALL crafts and DIY projects!!
9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)?
- I am currently adoring Eminem and The Black Eyed Peas! The White Stripes and Kanye West are also currently rocking my world!
10. What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer? Any colors you just can't stand?
- I love sooo many colors that it would be hard to say that I dislike a color! I tend to like the warm reds and oranges, but I love them mixed with cool colors like turquoise and lime!
11. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?
- I am situated with my hubby, cat and dog!
12. What are your life dreams? (really stretching it here, I know)
- Oh. My dream is to live a creative, happy, healthy, long life with my wonderful hubby, family and friends! I still dream of going to an art school!
13. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with?
- I am afraid that I do not really know, because I have not knit with a LOT of yarns!
14. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
- I am not a big fan of acrylic and synthetic yarns!
15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?
- I am not sure that I have a current obsession!
16. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?
- I don't know yet, but I guess I like scarves because they are quick! Oh, but I like little teddies too!
17. What are you knitting right now?
- Right now I am working on another Branching Out (this one is for my mother-in-law) and also working with moms on our Knit for her Cure "Emily" scarf!
18. What do you think about ponchos?
- Ponchos seem like an interesting concept and many of them seem very beautiful, however I feel like Cirque Du Soleil could perform underneath mine if I were to wear one! They just don't seem terribly slimming and I am sure I could use something slimming!
19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles?
- I love the modern convenience of circular needles! I used to love the antiquity and simplicity of straight bamboo needles because I felt as though I was connecting with knitters past.
20. Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?
- I am an addi turbo convert! I can't help it ... they are addi-cting!
21. Are you a sock knitter?
- I am not a sock knitter yet, but I really would like to learn the Magic Loop method! I tried and failed but of course I was trying to make it up as I went!
22. How did you learn to knit?
- I taught myself with Debbie Stoller's book "Stitch n' Bitch".
23. How old is your oldest UFO?
- If, lets say that, a bear was still missing one eye, or that a pair of booties was missing the ribbons, or that one bear was not even sewn together yet, would those be considered unfinished? If so then I would have to say about six months! Otherwise my projects are finished!
24. What is your favorite animated character or a favorite animal/bird?
- I am not really a fan of cartoons or animated characters. I love clean modern graphic designs and I am currently obsessed with bird designs.
25. What is your favorite holiday?
- I think my favorite holiday is Christmas! I love buying/making gifts for people and sending out cards!
26. Is there anything that you collect?
- I like to collect craft supplies!
27. What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have?
- I do not subscribe to any knitting magazines! I want a pattern to really catch my eye before I pay for a magazine/book!
28. Any books out there you are dying to get your hands on?
- Oooh books! I adore books! I like modern books with inspiring photography! My amazon list changes quickly sometimes because I love to buy books!
29. Any patterns you have been coveting, but haven't bought for one reason or another??
- Not any that I know of right now! Am I missing something? Should I start looking for some?
